"Reach new heights! Discover new ideals! Never stop changing. If you have to use less morally correct ways to achieve your goals, then so be it. Sometimes, for the pursuit of a goal, it's needed.""Suzume. I make COMPs, I make weapons, and on the side, I used to sell them to both Yatagarasu and the Society. I didn't have a dog in this world, until I awoke to my Akasha. Now that I'm bound to... this, I just kinda do Yatagarasu. Otherwise, I don't think ol' man would let me do that. I'm also the person who designed the Priest's new COMP, though I never knew it was him. Sorry about that.""I used to be a regular person of society. That fell out of scope because I suddenly became driveless. Why was I busting my ass for people at university? Why was I working for people who only wanted to live through me? I wanted to be free. So I started smoking, drinking, dropped out of school. I got a COMP, associated with the worst types of people. I used my talents not for the state, but for myself. I feel free. I'm free!""If you want my opinion, COMPs and Akashas... They both symbolize freedom. After all, humans are both in danger regardless of what you have. If you use your Akasha to harm others and Devil Summoners, then you have power and control. A certain type of lust that overwhelms your body. I'm not like that, don't think anyone here is, but... If Devil Summoners see themselves as superior to humans, how do Akashics who abuse their powers see both Summoners and humans? No matter where you go, there'll always be a hierarchy system, I think."

XV. Devil Arcana.

Portrayed as a devil over two naked and chained figures, the negative aspect of the Devil Arcana represents the urge to do selfish, impulsive, violent things, and being a slave to one's own impulse and feelings. Occasionally, it is also portrayed as a symbol of temptation. The positive aspect, however, represents a healthy bond or commitment.

Devil Summoning.

People with spiritual powers are able to make contracts with Demons. Summoners are able to use these powers to fight alongside them, or some use this power to wield themselves through Black Sabbath. This ability has allowed them to frequently change history regardless of what side they’re on. There are different types of Summoners, including those who fight under a common cause (Yatagarasu for example), those who act alone to pursue their own desires (Freelance Summoners), and those who seek (and often abuse, like the Phantom Society) power for its own sake. The Preservers aside from an explicit few are able to use Demons to assist them in combat, generally in spaces where they need to hide their usage of their Personas. As such, they are capable of summoning Demons and their Akasha simultaneously if needed.

I. COMP: Black Cauldron

A pair of tommy guns that together make a singular COMP, or GUMP, as it’s also known as. Black Cauldron specializes in increasing Suzume’s ability to inflict ailments through Black Sabbath, and also deciphering and exposing weaknesses of opponents for allies. Because of this, Suzume uses both of her firearms as long distance weapons, preferring to be away from the action.

II. COMP Smith

A COMP Smith previously located in Shibuya, Tokyo, but moved to Hadou City upon realizing her potential as a Persona user by Masahiko Ametsuchi’s command. Because of this, she manages and modifies the COMPs of her allies, while also creating and modifying the forms of their weapons as well. Suzume’s experience with technology and blacksmithing is enough to overwhelm anyone in the field, as it makes her experienced with technology and the concept of Demons.

III. Weapon Creation

Through the usage of her forge and her genius intelligence to create COMPs, Suzume can create weapons if she has a large enough space to transport her workshop. She also uses her Personas to expedite the process. Her ingenious intelligence is one of the biggest resources amongst the Preservers, as it helps them defend themselves to fight another day.

IV. Item Creation

Suzume’s vast intelligence, understanding of magic, and her understanding of Demons allows her to create technologies that not only interact with the world, but the very foundation of it. This allows her to create technologies that replicate magic itself, in addition to creating items that are able to counteract magic as well. Between herself and Medicus Morax, Suzume is superior in sheer intellect.

Anti-Demon SoftwareThe basis of most of her technologies can be traced back to this. The anti-demon software allows her to scramble Demon’s informational and corporeal forms, effectively vaporizing them from the mortal realm. As these beings are composed of data, anything attached to it is similarly eradicated. Later on, Anti-Demon Containments are made from this software, and it’s used to seal away and contain Demons, or entities that have gone under Demonization. Anti-Demon Containment temporarily breaks them down into information itself, sealing them inside of a cube for brief transfer, so that they may be contained elsewhere.
Elemental StaffA staff that with a click, can shoot out or control various elements. Suzume’s main function is using the Gry- series of spells, controlling gravity and inflicting it on others in order to immobilize them in place.
NanotechnologyTaking small chips and inserting it onto any object, Suzume can reconstruct, replicate or even enhance anything she places it upon. They work in a similar fashion to the -Kaja and -Dia line of spells, although their usage at this point is completely different.

V. Black Sabbath

COMP skills used by both Devil Summoners and Akashics made from the essence of Demons. The White Sabbath was a technique created by Atsuyoshi Fumetsugawa specifically for the Four Symbols and Huanglong, although the process can easily be replicated for other Demons. By transferring the abilities of the Demon into a weapon of choice, Black Sabbath enables COMPs to replicate a Demon’s powers without directly summoning them.

VI. Magatama

Magatama are mystical beads suffused with elemental magic and represent their respective element through distinct colors. The wielder harnesses their potency by assimilating it within their soul and unleashes the spell it embodies. Remarkably, since the magical power of the Magatama has already been actualized, no tithe is demanded from the user's soul to manifest the spells held inside. Suzume carries Flame, Blast and Darkness Magatamas at all times.

VII. Shivashakti

Also known as Transcendentalism or Shakti, for short. When an Akashic reaches a form of elation that synchronizes with both heart and soul, body and emotions, the idea of “Shivashakti”, can be realized. In most cases however, most Akashic users can feel the advent of this elation such as when going through intense combat. Other times, it can simply come naturally, and Akashics that are able to grasp their synchronization fully, are able to use it at will without restriction. Although, for all known users of Shakti, none have been able to reach this state. For everyone except Reimi Fukuchi, the form of Shakti comes in the form of their original Akasha, while she is able to use a combination of several Demons and her Akasha to create unique spells.

VIII. Willpower

Mankind carries within them boundless potential. By willpower alone, those who have tapped into their metaphysical powers may evolve in strength when facing death or even if a foe is too great for them in strength. No conventional limit exists to this evolution, as even ontological gaps in power can be crossed by a mere increase in resolve. Be it a day or amid battle, a soul can flourish at a moment’s notice. Moreover, amplified strength is not the sole benefit of a human’s determined soul. Two other known products of the human soul are the capability to regenerate and adapt to supernatural abilities. Should the soul in question carry enough resolve, healing wounds—no matter how abstract—can be instantly regenerated in a plume of azure flame.

"TRAILBLAZE YOUR OWN DESIRE."

25XX .
She ran out of her parent’s house, disappearing into the darkness. There were words being yelled at by her parents, but she didn’t care. At this point, who really gave a damn about her parents?
For many people in her great and illustrious nation, this would’ve been seen as an impossible act. The fact that many people around here felt shackled and bound by their “traditions” and their “honor-bound blood” often did make her nauseous. She wasn’t going to follow her parents path. She wasn’t going to get married either, no way in hell. She wasn’t going to take care of parents that wanted to live vicariously through her, and enforce their traditions on their only daughter. Especially when she got away from her country during her college years. The idea of freedom and selfishness was seldom seen in the tidy, clean and faux world of Japan she knew for her childhood. No other place in the country was “free”, yes, but it was better than a group of people that would rather relinquish their rights and freedoms to a nation that would continue to rot in submissiveness. She hated that very idea. So, the young woman ran. She ran and ran, until her feet couldn’t go any farther. Farther and farther, up until she hitched a ride with a friend, who was willing to assist her in getting farther away from those freaks. She ended up in a city where freedom was encouraged, and new names were handed out like candy at a store. The skills that she worked tirelessly to do weren’t going to rot all because her parents wanted them to take care of her. Want her to come back? Acknowledge her work in her field! It was that simple.Although she started out small, she met more people in the underground. People who were unbound by the burdens of all societies, who came to this crossroad of a city, drawn in by the alluring lights, a miracle born in the island of Kyushu. She learned multiple languages, the ones that humans used to interact, and the languages people used to haggle, barter and negotiate. She met people in the field of Devil Summoning, despite having no aptitude for Devil Summoning herself. But she was gifted in the art of making weapons. They were quick to scorn and show disdain, only to balk when she could make COMPs and weapons better than any other in her field. Between then and now, she created a COMP designed to be able to summon Demons even without the spiritual aptitude to do so.Although she wasn’t a Devil Summoner, she integrated the usage of Demons and her own hard work to forge these weapons, allowing her the speed and power of an entire team of blacksmiths. What separated them was the fact that her work was done more quickly and efficiently, molded to perfection. People across the country, and even around the world, flocked to her prowess. She became known in the underground as “Black Magic”; a positive and negative title that reflected her view in both worlds. For those who were in the Devil Summoning space, it was a title of positivity; one that showed her passion and dedication to a craft using heretical means. For those who simply acquired weapons from her, it was seen as abnormal, almost incredulous. Many organizations who commissioned her did not understand what she did was supernatural, and as such, questioned her methods.Nothing ever came of it. There were no illegal processes used, and aside from the usage of Demons, she could never be traced or found out. Overtime, she rose to become one of the best COMP Smiths in the country. She dyed her hair blonde, and she became embroidered with tattoos. The woman who was rejected by her parents was no more, embracing a new mask and personality, one who embraced her prideful, selfish and almost impulsive sense of freedom.Suzuran Koshiba had been stuffed away a long time ago. Those around who worked with her knew Suzuran by her new name, one that is spoken about in Devil Summoning circles across Japan.Suzume.In a mundane society filled with mundane people, Suzume grew up like the rest of her population. In a large city, went to a public school, graduated, and was expected to fit in with the rest of society. The rules of society often said that those growing up in Japan generally had a certain period of time to be free and unburdened by the responsibilities of the nation before being forced to be shackled into repetitive monotony.Regardless of what sort of job that it is, people who work in her country don’t understand or comprehend the idea of what it means to be free. Furthermore, the spiraling abyss that took place within her country, one that was addled by technological advancements and the reliance of machines, made it harder to empathize with those around her.People wanted to take the hardest path to arrive at the easiest answer. No one wanted to think for themselves, only relying on those in power, or a simple click of a button that made their lives easier, but made their intellect far lesser than the average ape.It was stultifying to see.Suzume saw this occur with all walks of life, from her classmates, to her parents, to businesses around her, even teachers promoting this lazy way of life. Always take the easy way without working on it the hard way. People so earnestly want to build themselves up an empire without truly understanding hard work. Typing something in a prompt isn’t hard work, you never thought of it yourself, she always thought. This repetitive reliance and feedback loop has turned Japan into a place of stagnation, and one where she had to escape. Because she was some of the few who escaped the rat race known as modern day high school, and traveled abroad for university.Suzume was someone who always prided herself on a specialty in mechanical engineering. She found herself passionate in the art of machine language, coding and adept with her hands when it came to working with metal. Although her true passion was creating and developing weapons. To the point that, before she traveled to America and was still in highschool, made crude replicas of weapons from famous television shows and comics. However, even when she went to college in both Japan and America, Suzume was no good at studying. She was no good at academics, and although she succeeded in mechanical engineering and her field of study, she flopped everywhere else, even as both an undergraduate and graduate student. It was only through her extreme intellect and expertise on mechanical engineering that got her this far in the first place. However, by the time she entered graduate school, Suzume was tired and had enough of her teachers. She never got along with them anyway! She had enough of the people around her. They were all focused on something small and minute. Everyone wanted to discover new concepts. They all wanted to be famous through some sort of big and life changing discovery. She didn’t want that level of fame. She just wanted to work on her passion, be her own boss. Not someone else’s. So, she left university, and went back to Japan.Of course, this was abrupt. She always told her parents that she would work in mechanical engineering. Although it wasn’t her focus, metalworking and blacksmithing was her true passion. But she couldn’t really tell the people at home that.Well, she did. This led to an argument, and as seen above, it didn’t really work out! So she ran far away, hitched a ride for a friend and just started to wander. Her parents told her if she wasn’t going to school, she was going to take care of them? She was going to be condemned to take care of some old people who had resigned themselves to the fate of the country?Screw that! If she was going to be stuck in this decaying country, then Suzume would rebel. She would ultimately rebel, and search for a way to work on her passions without being impeded by anyone else. This was her goal! And through many sleepless nights, wandering from place to place, a nasty drinking addiction and many other things, she found herself in a land that was unbothered by Japan’s cruel, gripping touch of reality.Hadou City.By being introduced in Hadou City, and worming her way into several different places, Suzume had acquainted herself with those who recognized her talents. Although she understood the idea and methodology of Devil Summoning, she found it pretty weird that people needed to have aptitude in order to be able to succeed. That being said, she set aside that issue for later, and began to make weapons for the community. All it took was a small loan, and she repaid it back within six months. Although it was rough at first, her craftsmanship grew better and better until she became famous for her skilled handiwork. It was said that Suzume could even repair broken weapons, and replicate ones from different myths. Weapons such as the Kusanagi or Excalibur were no such problem, although they were still fake. She had to experiment more. She began to experiment with different magical metals, and even began to experiment with different aspects and parts of Demons. There were parts of her that felt a bit uneasy working with the latter, but with metal, she found herself more attentive when working with it rather than body parts and essences of Demons. But in order to truly study and understand the subject herself,She had to become a Devil Summoner. In order to do that however, she had to study COMPs. The next few years of her life were spent studying COMPs, and a way to summon Demons without requiring the aptitude to become a Devil Summoner. One had to have spiritual powers in order to make contracts with Demons. But Suzume... well, even if she couldn’t bypass that law completely, she COULD make it easier to summon and use them. The Black Sabbath method, which was extracted from the method known as White Sabbath, a technique used by Atsuyoshi Fumetsugawa, was made by Suzume. A technique that would allow others to use the powers of Demons without having to summon them. It was like having a pencil you didn’t have to sharpen (a mechanical pencil). Although this did come with its own drawbacks. While the user inherited the abilities of the Demons they manipulated via Black Sabbath, they also gained both weakness and resistances of said Demons too. This in addition to that the death of the user would prevent their Demons from assisting in their revival. She used this code and gave it to the free market; whoever used it was none of her business, but it allowed her to create a GUMP specifically for herself, giving her the aptitude to summon Demons and allow them to assist in her work. She wasn’t a fighter necessarily, but she did need them in order to help out more. Her workshop was completely run and controlled by Demons, and the steady cash flow she had from her business allowed her a nice workshop in the midst of the city. Many people came to her from all avenues. From black market dealers, to both Yatagarasu and Phantom Society clients.. She had no stake in their so-called “war”, nor did she care all too much. She was getting paid, and that’s what mattered. Her realm was a safespace, and a safe space it was. People were satisfied, and she was proud of her work. She used to drink to concentrate, and many people could see her out and about when she was going to the local bars after a long day of work.Everything was good. Years passed by, without anything truly happening. Although she was no longer credited for the creation of the Black Sabbath, she was firmly in the community, and whispers of her talent spread throughout the community.Attracting both the right, and wrong people. When she was twenty eight, a Demon, cloaked in gold and blue, appeared in her workshop. He was quite tall for a Demon, and he stood like a giant, nearly as tall as her workshop itself. Upon his hand, was a four eyed crow, which perched without motion on his hand. He had come for her to work on something for his master. Although he could not come in person, it was pertinent that she designed the weapon itself for him to use.Although she wasn’t used to Demons coming face to face with her from other Summoners, she didn’t question. Over the course of a month, she finally finished it. A golden blade made with a combination of metal and technology. There was no code to be placed upon it, but she finished the blade and presented it to the large Demon.Adequate enough, the Demon’s master had paid in advance, soon disappearing from Suzume’s sight. Although she had very little idea about what had occurred, what she had done would set off a catalyst of events that led her to ultimately face Japan’s new Prime Minister.First, it was the fact that right after that, she was attacked by a yakuza group who aimed to keep her “silent”. While she did fight them off, it was through her sheer determination and grit that she awakened a new power from within; a strength which had been slumbering within her since the beginning of her college years.... So the voice within her said, she wasn’t really sure. “I am thou, thou art I”, and the like.Regardless, with those unique and spiritual powers awakened, Suzume fought off her attackers. A few days after that, she was met by a quirky man, who at the time, presented himself as another seasoned veteran within the Devil Summoning field. Lo and behold, it was actually the literal Japanese Prime Minister, and Yatagarasu’s leader. It had turned out that he had been watching her for some time! Although, he’s not really sure about the yakuza that attacked her. He was still working on the details. For someone who was effectively exceptionally above average, there was a lot of information to process. But not truly impossible to comprehend.Suzume listened and understood. While she played for both sides, she had to pick ONE, and the other side (which wanted to kill her) wasn’t really a choice. So...“If I’m forced to come along, then fine. Just don’t expect me to be good like everyone else.”“That’s great!” The man who was known as the Prime Minister laughed egregiously. It was the sort of laugh that was so positive and filled with purity that it made you want to puke. “Ah, at the very least, don’t take it as me snatching you away! There are plenty of money opportunities to be made! But your life that you knew now,Is effectively over.”Suzume, unlike the others in her troupe, isn’t a Devil Summoner by birth. Nor did she ever want the mystical power of “Persona”.Suzume is someone who wanted to skirt past life because she was good at her passion. At her older age, her passion and work was the only thing that mattered. In trying to avoid the destiny of falling in line, she found herself in a much bigger issue... One she struggled to truly care about personally. She doesn’t care for others, and being forced to do so wasn’t in her M.O.. But seeing how the man who came before her was positively pushing her to do so... she might as well give it a chance. She might as well try her best to make the opportunity that lay ahead of her work. Seems like just like her, those that the Prime Minister assembled were all outcasts just like her. One hell of a time.Just as long as she gets to do her own thing, that’s all that matters.Right?
